“And we’re equally pleased to say that not only are they fully funded but we are also the only gym across the whole of the East Midlands that is currently offering them!”

The flagship initiative of the Nick Maughan Foundation, BOXWISE is a non-profit social enterprise that supports young people, helping them make a successful transition to adulthood and develop essential life skills and thrive both in and outside of the ring,

Offering boxing training with a difference, its programmes help young people develop six core values – purpose, adaptability, imagination, discipline, emotional control and teamwork – before providing practical advice and progression routes to help its graduates enter employment or further education.

“Each session will be delivered by one of three Level 2 England Boxing official coaches here at Suggy’s Gym – myself, Chad Sugden or Irvine Taylor – and they’re open to young people up to and including the age of 18,” added Dean.

“The five-day course will be held daily from 12 noon to 1pm from Monday 31 July to Friday 4 August and sessions for the 10-week course are every Tuesday evening from 7pm with the next one coming soon, so make sure you get in touch quickly to reserve a place.
