NEWARK AMATEUR BOXING CLUB

Formed in 2002, Newark Amateur Boxing Club is the longest-running club of its kind in the town.

Its members train regularly with the experienced boxing coaches at Suggy’s Gym and 10 of its most promising prospects were given the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of a packed crowd of families, friends and fan when the club held its first ever Home Show at Farndon Memorial Hall in February 2018.

Three months later, The NABC Home Show 2 in the same venue saw eight of the youngsters back in the ring again.

Since then, Newark’s young boxers have returned to the ring on several occasions, most recently in February 2022 for its first ever event at the Newark Sports & Fitness Centre, when 11 of the 12 bouts on the day showcased NABC boxers in an atmosphere that was electric right from the start.

Further afield, young amateurs such as Sam HardyAlfie Briggs-Price, James Jordan, Joel Cook and Chloe Davies are among those who have all represented NABC in the ring.
