Newark Festival returns to town over the August Bank Holiday weekend and young ones from Newark Amateur Boxing Club and kickboxers who all train out of Suggy’s Gym will be taking part in the event again, on the afternoon of Saturday 26 August.
On stage in the Market Place from 1pm, professional boxer and England Boxing Level 2 Coach Chad Sugden will be leading a team of young boxers and professional ISKA World Kickboxing Champion Bailey Sugden will be joined by several of the youngsters they coach regularly nearby at 49 Castlegate.
“From 1pm to 1.30pm Chad, Bailey and the young members taking part in the two 15-minute demos will be showing visitors to the event just what it is their boxing and kickboxing training sessions involve and the benefits they offer to participants, whether they’re looking to improve their health, fitness, confidence and discipline or want to take the first steps towards becoming a fighter or boxer themselves,” said head coach Dean Sugden.
“And If any of the young visitors watching want to step up onto the stage and give it a go themselves, they’ll be more than welcome to do so!
“Chad and Bailey will also be available for a short while after the demos to answer any questions they or their parents may have and share details of the different membership packages available at the gym and how to sign up to them.”
