Suggy’s Gym pro female boxer Jade Grierson ready to walk back into the ring next month

With just over two weeks to go till she walks back out into the ring, Suggy’s Gym’s first female pro boxer Jade ‘Greo’ Grierson is looking to add a third win to her unbeaten record.

After several years as a successful amateur kickboxer, she recently made the switch to boxing, making her pro debut in Rotherham in December 2022, was back in action in Nottingham in September 2023, winning both fights, and is now getting ready for the third one next month, again back in Nottingham.

Fighting on the card of the Scott Calow Boxing show at Rushcliffe Arena in West Bridgford on Saturday 2 March, she will be up against Spain’s Patricia Gonzalez. Doors open 5.30pm with the first bell at 6pm and their fight is currently first on the programme.

“I’m feeling really hyped for this contest, especially as I know that my opponent is keen on fighting girls with a winning streak. Unfortunately for her, I’m a lot more technically gifted and stronger than any of her previous opponents and there’s no doubt in my mind that this will be a very exciting fight!” said Jade.

“My training’s going really well – I’m feeling fitter and stronger than ever heading into this one and also very happy to be training along Chad Sugden, who will be back in the ring himself in April.

“A big thank you to my sponsors Novati and Security2 and to everyone coming over to West Bridgford to support me again for this one. I’m looking forward to seeing you all for this England v Spain clash – if Scott Calow’s previous boxing events are anything to go by, it’s sure to be a great night all round and I’m determined to get things off to a fantastic start when I open the show!”

“There are very few professional female boxers in England and we’re delighted that Jade is now on that list, representing Suggy’s Gym, and is about to do so again on a fight night here in Nottinghamshire that features a total of seven bouts,” said head coach Dean Sugden.

“Her fight next month is the first of several on the cards for our own pro boxers and kickboxers in the coming months, details of which will be announced soon, and we’re very grateful to Scott for giving her this opportunity to get 2024 off to a great start for us all here in Newark.”

A few tickets for the show are still available, priced £50 each – to check availability and make bookings, text 07729 428611 as soon as possible.
