After weighing in on Friday 22 November, Suggy’s Gym’s professional boxer Jade Grierson and professional kickboxer Chace Griffin were both back in action on Saturday 23 November, when Jade was on the card of the Carl Greaves Promotions show at Newark Showground’s Lady Eastwood Centre and Chace was at the Maher Centre in Leicester fighting for the Intercontinental K1 Title.
“They both did us really proud on Saturday night, with Jade defeating her Lithuanian opponent Vaida Masiokaite and Chace being crowned the new ISKA Intercontinental Champion,” said Suggy’s Gym head coach Dean Sugden.
“I thought Jade was very businesslike and professional, she dominated the fight from start to finish and although the ref Ryan Churchill gave Vaida two rounds they were really close ones and the other four were definitely dominated by Jade’s superior tactics.”

“What a night it was, this victory tasted so sweet and meant a lot to me,” said Jade. “Going into this fight meant so much to me on a personal level, redeeming myself and also proving to all my fans and everyone in Newark that on Saturday 14 September I just had a bad night.
“We had a game plan going into this and knew exactly what was needed to get my hand raised. And I think we did that and more – the crowd was absolutely buzzing and the atmosphere just made for such an entertaining Greo in there!
“Feeling composed and ready to go in whichever way Vaida wanted to take it, I felt I controlled and dominated throughout and she was completely taken aback by what she was met with on Saturday night. Now I’m looking forward to 2025 and what it brings – at 5-0-1 I think I’m well within my rights for a chance of a title shot and there are a few names I’d quite happily go up against. I’m definitely not here to mess around, I feel as though I’m a true contender at the welterweight division and want to make a statement.
“Thank you to everyone who came out Saturday night to support me – it really does mean the world to me. And a big shout out to all my sponsors – Novati, Security 2, International Export Packages, Newark Mini Skips and Maria’s Just Jackets.”
“In Leicester, Chace was on point in the early rounds and looked like he could have stopped Levi Lawrence in the second one,” said Dean. “After dropping several times, Levi looked out on his feet and was retreating to corners and ropes where Chace’s pressure was relentless. The third round saw Chace dominate even further, punishing his opponent’s legs and landing heavy artillery to body and head making Levi looked finished.
“But in the fourth round Levi came back, catching Chace flush and landing his own big punches followed by eight or nine that sent Chace to the canvas for the first time. Although Chace then gathered himself, the pressure was relentless and Levi had him nearly falling the ropes in round four.
“Chace was given a second count but recovered and started to land some big shots of his own but then got caught with a knee to head after having his head pulled down illegally. The ref stepped in and warned Levi, then noticed the cut caused by the illegal technique. The doctor took one look at the cut and was not happy for the fight to continue, which meant that the crowd missed out on what would have been an absolute war in the fifth round.
“Referee Paul Nichols announced that, due to illegal technique causing the cut, it would go to the judges’ score cards and after four rounds they scored it unanimously in favour of the Suggy’s Gym fighter and Chace was crowned the new ISKA Intercontinental Champion, which means he has now added his third title, staked his claim and shown he is ready for a big stage fight on one championship. If this fight had been on one, Chace would have been getting a $50k bonus!”

“It felt really good to be back in the ring after almost two years out,” said Chace. ”I like exciting fights and that’s what I got.
“I knew I was ahead on the score cards after a strong dominating start in the first two rounds and although round three started and ended the same, I got caught with a good shot in the fourth. But I prepare for a war and I was ready for that – I want to fight the best.
“I’m 6-0 as a pro now and will fight anywhere against anyone. My coach has mentioned one championship and it would be a dream for me to be able to deliver exciting fights and showcase my skills on a platform for the world to see.”
