CHILD PROTECTION & SAFEGUARDING

The protection and safeguarding of the children and young people who train at Suggy’s Gym is extremely important to head coach Dean Sugden and his team.

“Our family-run gym has been offering training at different facilities in Newark since it was first established in 1988 before moving to our current location here at Castlegate in December 2000,” says Dean.

“Throughout that time, we have been known for our unrivalled success, offering classes and courses to members of  both Suggy’s Gym and Newark Amateur Boxing Club that are designed to give them the opportunity to get fit, build confidence, discipline and respect and of course have fun when doing so.

“But it’s equally important to us that they do this in a secure environment, something we make certain by following the England Boxing Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy that ensures children and young people are able to develop personally, socially, emotionally and physically within a culture that is committed to safeguarding them from harm.”

You’ll find full details of that policy by clicking on this link – if you have any queries about it or any concerns about the safety of a young member of the gym, please speak to one of the trainers or contact Dean directly by emailing deansugdenpt@gmail.com or by texting him on 07968 005797.
