Fight fans across the UK are looking forward to the prospect of an action-packed night in October, when Road To GLORY returns to Grantham for the third time.
Promoted by Suggy’s Gym in Newark, Road To GLORY 3 takes place on Saturday 6 October in the 1500-seater stadium at Grantham Meres Leisure Centre.
The card features some of the country’s top professional kickboxers who will be battling it out for a total of £5,000 prize money, with a multi-fight deal with the world’s leading stand up promotion, GLORY, also at stake for the winner of the prestigious 85kg 8 Man Tournament.
With six more fighters going head to head in three Super Fights and a further ten lined up for the five-fight undercard, the event is already generating widespread excitement among coaches, fighters and fans alike.
Announcing the line-up for the 8 Man Tournament last week, promoter Dean Sugden said: “Every single one of the 24 fighters on the card will be coming to Grantham to win but none more so than these eight guys.
“With a £2,000 purse for the winner and that GLORY contract up for grabs, one thing’s for certain; when Louis King, Jordan Smith, Darren Anstey, Reece Rowell, Dan Burton, Scott Cocking, Jack Taylor and Colly Murphy take their turns in the ring, it will be war.”
Launched in March 2017, the Road To Glory series is the only UK event of its kind officially sanctioned by GLORY. “Since last spring, several of the fighters we’ve matched on RTG have walked out for GLORY, with Jamie Bates, William Goldie-Galloway, Fraser Weightman, Adam Hatfield and Adrian Maxim all being given the opportunity every kickboxer dreams of,” added Dean.
“And of course there’s our very own Bailey ‘BadBoy’ Sugden too, who made his international debut for GLORY at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden, went on to fight in Rotterdam, Los Angeles and Birmingham and has recently signed a long-term contract with the promotion.
“The big question now is who’s going to be following in their footsteps – who will be making his debut when GLORY comes to London in November?”
Tickets for Road To GLORY 3 are on sale now from the individual fighters taking part, at Suggy’s Gym in Newark or via the ticket hotline 01636 605708 / 07816 840920. Tiered and balcony seats are £35 each, with Silver Ringside Tables of 10 priced £600 and Gold Ringside Tables of 10 priced £750.
Doors at the Grantham Meres Leisure Centre open at 6pm; the first bell is at 6.45pm and a fully licensed bar and hot food will be available throughout the evening.
