Nottinghamshire’s Bailey Sugden is getting set for his fifth trip to the USA since making his debut on the world’s leading kickboxing promotion in New York just over two years ago.
The Suggy’s Gym professional, known to fight fans across the globe as The British Bulldog, will feature in a Featherweight contest with ‘American Ninja’ Asa Ten Pow in the joint Main Event on the card of GLORY 68 Miami on Saturday 28 September.
Bailey will be looking to derail Ten Pow, who is currently ranked Number 6 on GLORY and fights out of West Palm Beach in Florida, on his home turf when they come face to face at the James L Knight Centre.
“I’m really excited to be heading back to the States again and adding Miami to the list of cities GLORY has taken me to over the past couple of years,” he said. “And going there to fight an opponent ranked Number 6 in the world just adds to the excitement.
“Kickboxing isn’t a game for me, it’s a way of life – I can’t wait for this one and the opportunity it gives me to show everyone just what a true warrior looks like in the ring.”
Suggy’s Gym head coach Dean Sugden added: “We all love it when Bailey is the underdog. With five straight wins on GLORY, there’s no doubt Ten Pow is good but I don’t believe he’s been tested in them. Trust me, this will be a real test for him and I’m backing Bailey to come out victorious and, in doing so, get his Top 10 ranking back.
“With fights against Anvar Boynazarov, Alexsei Ulianov, Zakaria Zouggary and Chenglong Zhang among those under his belt since signing with them, Bailey’s just started to prepare like a true GLORY fighter and has now found a really good balance outside of fighting too.”
Tickets for GLORY 68 are on sale now and full details of how and when to watch the worldwide live streaming from Miami will be available here and via social media soon.
